Origin
Rocket Raccoon first appeared in Marvel Preview #7 in 1976, created by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen. The character was a comparatively minor cosmic-Marvel figure for thirty years before the 2008 Annihilation Guardians of the Galaxy reformation and the 2014 James Gunn film. Like Star-Lord, Rocket's modern profile is film-driven.
Comic history
Most of Rocket's defining material is the Abnett-Lanning Guardians run and the Skottie Young 2014 solo series. The cinematic version is the cultural touchstone for most readers, and the Rivals design leans into the brown-and-white fur with the Bombard Mode jetpack as a callback to his comic identity as a Halfworld constable.
Rocket in Marvel Rivals
Rocket is a 250 HP Strategist whose kit is unusual for the role — he is the only Strategist whose primary identity is damage rather than healing. Bombard Mode is a high-DPS turret stance; Repair Mode is the healing toggle. The skill ceiling is in toggling between modes at the right moments. Players who lock into one mode underperform; players who flicker between them can both heal and contribute fight damage.
Abilities
Bombard Mode is the damage stance. Repair Mode is the healing stance. Jetpack Dash is the mobility. Flying Ace is the secondary mobility. C.Y.A., his ultimate, is a self-buff with high mobility and damage that lets him commit to a fight in a way Strategists typically cannot.

Spotting Rocket in Rivaldle
Rocket's species cell is Raccoon, unique to him. His hair color array of Black, Brown, and White is the only triple-color entry in the database. His Red eye color is shared only with Ultron. In Pixelation Mode the brown-fur palette is distinctive. In Emoji Mode the raccoon is essentially literal.
Try the puzzle
Rocket is a possible answer in every Rivaldle mode. The fastest way to spot them is usually a combination of two columns in Classic Mode plus a quick read of the silhouette or pixelation. Once you get a feel for the database fingerprints — the unique species cell, the unique origin year, the unique HP value — most heroes can be solved in two or three guesses.
