How to Play Rivaldle

Rivaldle is a daily Marvel Rivals guessing game with five different modes. Each mode reveals information about the hidden hero of the day in a different way. The rules are short, but each mode rewards slightly different knowledge — comic-book trivia, in-game ability familiarity, visual recall, and lateral thinking.

Shared rules

Once per day the game picks a hidden hero from the Marvel Rivals roster. That hero stays the same for every player for the entire day — the puzzle resets at midnight UTC. Within a mode you have unlimited guesses, but every guess reveals more information, so a careful player solves in fewer tries. There is no time limit and no countdown during play.

Submit a guess by typing a hero's name into the search bar and picking them from the autocomplete list. Repeating a hero by accident is silently ignored and never counts against you. Once you find the answer the mode locks for the day — come back at the next reset.

Rivaldle needs no account. Your guesses, completion state and streak are stored in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server. Switch browsers or clear your data and you start fresh, because the data only ever lived on your device.

The five modes

Classic Mode

The comparison-grid mode. Type any hero and the game shows their row across the attribute columns — gender, species, affiliation, role, eye color, hair color and HP. Each cell is colored by how it compares to the hidden hero: green is an exact match, yellow is a partial match, and red is a miss. Numeric columns add an arrow telling you whether the answer is higher or lower than your guess. Keep guessing; the grid narrows the field every row until you find the hero.

Silhouette Mode

A black cut-out of the day's hero is shown. Read the shape — the cape, the helmet, the build, the weapon — and name the hero it belongs to. The silhouette reveals itself in full color the moment you solve it.

Emoji Mode

A short emoji rebus hints at the hero. You start with one emoji and unlock one more with every guess, hardest clue first, so the puzzle gets more obvious the longer you take. Read between the lines and work out who they point to.

Ability Mode

The hero's in-game abilities are revealed one at a time, one more per guess. If you know the kit, a single ability name is often enough; if you don't, let the list build until it clicks.

Pixelation Mode

A heavily pixelated portrait of the hero is shown and sharpens with every guess. Early on you're reading colors and rough shapes; by the last few guesses the hero is almost clear.

Streaks & sharing

Win a mode each day to grow that mode's streak; miss a day and it resets to zero. Rivaldle rewards consistency rather than speed. After a win you can copy a spoiler-free emoji grid of your solve to share with friends.
