Origin

Reed Richards first appeared in The Fantastic Four #1 in November 1961, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The original Fantastic Four was Marvel's response to DC's Justice League and the comic that started the modern Marvel age — its bestselling success funded the early Spider-Man, Hulk, and X-Men launches.

Comic history

The Fantastic Four runs that define Reed Richards are the Lee-Kirby originals, John Byrne's 1980s tenure, Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo's 2000s run, and Jonathan Hickman's 2010 reboot. Hickman's run in particular reframes Reed as the most alarming superhero in Marvel — a man whose intelligence makes him morally unreliable — and the design through-line in the Marvel Rivals kit reflects the calculating-genius framing.

Mister Fantastic in Marvel Rivals

Mister Fantastic is a 375 HP Duelist who plays as a stretchy bruiser. The kit is built around elongation — Stretch Punch is the basic, Distended Grip is the pull-in, Flexible Elongation is the long-range alternative. He has the highest HP of any Duelist in the role group, but his playstyle is much more positional than the high-HP framing suggests. He fights at medium range and rewards players who manage cooldowns rather than reflexes.

Abilities

Stretch Punch is the basic melee. Distended Grip pulls a target toward him. Flexible Elongation is the range extension. Reflexive Rubber is the damage absorption tool. Elastic Strength is the empowered burst. Brainiac Bounce, his ultimate, references the bouncing-rubber-body concept and is a high-mobility AoE move.

Spotting Mister Fantastic in Rivaldle

Mister Fantastic's gray-streaked Brown hair is unique in the database (only Doctor Strange shares the Brown-Grey array). His Fantastic 4 affiliation narrows him to four heroes, and his 375 HP — the highest in the entire Duelist role — pins him down within that group instantly. In Pixelation Mode the blue-and-white costume is a tell, though it is similar to Invisible Woman's palette.

Try the puzzle

Mister Fantastic is a possible answer in every Rivaldle mode. The fastest way to spot them is usually a combination of two columns in Classic Mode plus a quick read of the silhouette or pixelation. Once you get a feel for the database fingerprints — the unique species cell, the unique origin year, the unique HP value — most heroes can be solved in two or three guesses.
